Designers Giles Deacon leaves Ungaro

Emanuel Ungaro’s chief designer Giles Deacon and go separate ways from now, as the Parisian fashion house now announced

While the fashion world just curious to New York Fashion Week look, you take in Paris in silence at Ungaro farewell: As announced, the fashion house was now, it will separate into “mutual agreement” of creative director Giles Deacon. The British fashion designer, the post until just before half years – in June 2010 – took up followed, then the Spanish Estrella Archs and should actually provide a new and steady hand at the fashion label. Finally, Deacon was itself already the fifth designer within five years, was hired for Emanuel Ungaro.

“I’m very proud of the work I have done and my team at Ungaro and it was a great joy in the studio of Monsieur Ungaro and to work together with members of his studio,” Deacon told VOGUE UK online. “I will now devote the global evolution of my brand Giles, with some exciting projects in the next year.”

His designs for Ungaro are despite the end of cooperation on 3 October will be presented in Paris and, according to the company, “reflecting the work of the design team.” Jeffry M. Aronsson Ungaro CEO explains: “Emanuel Ungaro embodies a wide and clear DNA, which provides the company with a modern spirit.”

Giles Deacon studied at the prestigious Saint Martins College in London and after graduating worked for fashion brands including Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Bottega Veneta. In 2004 he founded his own label ‘Giles’ and received at the British Fashion Awards, the award for “Best New Designer”. In July of this year, he visited the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin in order to equip the campaign model Jessica Stam with a dress from Emanuel Ungaro. His last collection for French fashion house he showed in Paris in March.
